Arizona Weddings

As I am typing this snow is falling outside and work has been canceled for my roommates once again.

I miss Arizona and the sunshine, so this post will be about Arizona weddings, specifically in Flagstaff and Sedona.

I stumbled across Cameron + Kelly Studios and really enjoy their style.  They are a photography studio specializing in the Flagstaff, Sedona, and Scottsdale area.

My good friend Taryn is in love with the Tlaquepaque venue, pronounced Tla-keh-pah-keh, in Sedona.  There are four different courtyards for an intimate wedding ranging from 60-100 people depending on which one you pick.  One of my favorite things you can do to decorate the courtyard is hang colored lights with luminaries all over. It definitely lights up the whole area and brings a little sparkle.

The Dancing Apache Lodge is also a nice venue in the lower Oak Creek, just minutes from Sedona.  Cameron + Kelly Studios and The Dancing Apache Lodge were featured in a post on Style Me Pretty, you can see more pictures and read about the wedding there.

I feel that both Flagstaff and Sedona are perfect locations especially if you want your wedding style to be a little more rustic and natural. The scenery is gorgeous so make sure you get a great photographer! For more ideas check out August and After, Cori blogs about weddings also and the adventures of a newly wed. 🙂

It is FREEZING Here!

Yay! I made it to Arlington, VA.  So far I have bought groceries and furniture, been to Target twice, Starbucks, and an Irish Pub.  Everything is very different from HI and AZ for sure.  The drivers are not too friendly, but I’ll get used to it. Tomorrow we are having a dinner party so I can meet  some friends of my roommates.  I am still trying to find a job and will press hard on Monday, cross your fingers! 🙂

My latest find for a venue for either a ceremony and/or reception is Blackstone Country Club in AZ.  The family I babysit for belongs to the country club and it is absolutely gorgeous!  There are two lawn areas and they both have amazing views.  There weren’t too many pictures on their website but if you go to their Facebook page there are plenty more. 🙂 One of my good friends is getting married here in April and I believe it will be fabulous!

Lastly before I head off to bed… tonight I was asked why I love weddings so much.  I tried to answer in a million words but have now narrowed it down. I love weddings because it’s someones fairytale coming true, whether it be a small or huge wedding, simple or extravagant it’s their dream and a new future beginning.
